The Well known Bell Lab scientist who gave birth to the C Language and is a key developer of UNIX OS , Dennis MacAlistair Ritchie has passed away on October 13th, 2011. Unfortunately, this news did not hit the Air as it was should have. The sad news of Dennis Ritchie was first reported by Rob Pike Google+ Page.
Dennis Ritchie has died at 70, suffering from ill health. Reportedly, as per his brother Bill, he was getting treatment for his prostate cancer and heart disease.
Dennis Ritchie is the key person who has modernized the new era programming realm. In 1960, at Bell Labs he designed the C language, thus contributing majorly to the computer science. Dennis Ritchie and Ken Thompson collaboratively developed the Unix OS which is the base for todays Mac OS X, Android and many other linux powered server and data centers.
